Tuesday Tidbits #1: Problem Photography
I’ve decided that if I blog on a Tuesday, I’m going to give a tidbit of practical information. Homespun helps with an occasional dash of humor. This will leave readers with about 52 pieces of potentially useless information and me with 52 days not to have to think too hard each year.
This first Tuesday Tidbit... Problem photography.
Photograph the problem. When we were at the beach earlier this summer and my son was bitten by a Limulus polyphemus (that’s Horseshoe Crab to you laypeople), I could have immediately helped him when he started screaming. Instead, being a thinking man, I paused to take a picture, so that we could explain to the doctor what had happened in case this prehistoric living fossil looking thing was poisonous. Now, had I not paused for the pic, the scar he has from the bite might not have been as big and he might still have the tip of his right pinky, but now he and I have this special commemorative photo to go with the scar.
Less sandy examples: Suppose your car is making that noise that you can’t explain to the mechanic. Or suppose your TV or computer is wigging out again with the screen fluttering. Instead of trying to tell the mechanic or the mac genius. . . photograph your problem. Or video it.
1. Take a picture or quick video of the problem with your phone.</p>2. Then email it to the expert.
You’ll save a TON of time trying to explain the issue, and the expert will know exactly what’s going on beforehand. I’ve already done this multiple times for things going haywire with our vehicles or electronics in the house.
Still reading? I did not pause for this pic while he was being attacked. This shot was totally his idea. It was only the shell of the crab that had washed up on the beach. :)
