f/8 and Be There—Part 2
Picking back up on the “f/8 and be there" theme from last Friday’s post...
I really enjoy photography, but I’m not a pro. Some pictures of mine are out of focus. There are times when I under-expose or over-expose part of the photo. Sometimes, the composition is wrong and the subjects aren't in exactly the right place. Occasionally, the lens I look through gets shaken and something blocks my view—like the top of the boat in this picture.
But I've realized this taking pictures: life and photography are very similar. Sometimes, my life is a little out of focus. Now and then, I get over-exposed to the stuff of this world and my picture of God gets washed out by white noise. Other times, it’s simply a matter of being under-exposed to the right stuff and people. And every so often, my “lens” gets shaken and my view gets blocked for a bit.
F/8 and be there isn't just for professional photographers. It’s about marking the moments—even the imperfect ones—and knowing that they all weave together to become part of our story. It's for people like you and me who need to simplify sometimes and just "be there"—for our family, friends, and those who are looking for a clearer picture of the One who loves us and knows our name.
