Trials and Trails
Awhile back, I was looking over a bill and noticed that the company had misspelled our street name. They’d added a letter to the first part of the name. Then I looked closer and saw that the second word was "TRIAL" instead of “TRAIL."
There is a big difference between a trial and a trail.
On a trail, we are on a journey, and we walk knowing that we will encounter both adventure and obstacles.
In a trial, we often see ourselves as burdened by the obstacles.
The difference between the two words and the mindsets that go with them is whether I am focused first on the “I” (i.e., “me”) or open to learning via the journey ahead.
