Coffeenauts
A while ago I was in New York at a party with a good friend having a conversation when his cousin—whom I didn’t know—came up to say hello. My good friend and I often meet over coffee and talk about life and other things. He was explaining to his cousin about our friendship and the nature of the conversations that we have.
To this, his northern-born cousin responded, "So you're coffeenauts." My immediate unspoken reaction was, "Now there's a term I haven't heard before." I began to try to figure out what he meant by that. Then I remembered that my friend told me his cousin was from New Jersey. In the split seconds after that, I realized that what he had said was, “So, you're confidants."
Maybe so, but I like the idea of “coffeenauts.” I liked it so much I tried to buy the domain name. Alas, someone must have overheard the conversation and got to it first. Rats!
In the meantime, go check out the website of another great friend and coffeenaut, Chuck. He’s messing with beans at ChucksRoast.com.
