I was in a meeting this morning with a bunch of younger guys, and we were discussing priorities.
I told them one of the best lines I’ve ever heard regarding family vs. work stuff.
“You have to choose who you are going to disappoint.”
A pastor friend/mentor who did our wedding ceremony told us that during our premarital counseling sessions.
This does not mean that you disappoint people at work EVERY time. Sometimes it’s healthy for your family to see you following through on a work commitment. That said, work never goes away and will always be there. Family time is so much more limited. The older I get the more I realize this.
